The First BRICS Skills Standardization Conference and Establishment of BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee

On December 12, Beijing time, the first BRICS Skills Standardization Conference and the founding conference of the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee was successfully held online.

The meeting was organized by the BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group, and a total of 29 experts in the field of standardization from BRICS countries participated online.

The meeting was organized around three major themes. First, the revision of the Statute of the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee under the framework of BRICS Skills Group (hereinafter referred to as the Statute); second, the presentation of cases of competition group skills standards by the representative of Chinese experts; and third, the inauguration ceremony of the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee.

Members of the BRICS Business Council's Working Group on Skills Development and the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee met in the cloud to provide valuable inputs on the revision of the Charter and the sustainable development of the work, to exchange and discuss the format, content, templates and presentation platforms of the group standards, and to share best practices.

Dr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of the BRICS Business Council (China) Skills Development Working Group, delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee. He said that the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee is a task force dedicated to the standardization of future skills in BRICS countries under the framework of BRICS Skills Groups, responsible for coordinating and planning curriculum development and standards development in specific areas of BRICS Skills Groups. It aims to promote the harmonization and mutual recognition of the group's standards, jointly develop future skills curricula, address the current bottlenecks in skills training, improve and enhance the quality of education and training, and cultivate future skills talents. He emphasized that the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee will continue to organize the development, promotion, cooperation and exchange of standards in the areas of future technology skills, digital technology skills, artificial intelligence technology skills, etc., and give full play to the forward-looking, guiding and coordinating roles of the standards, so as to promote the development of the standards cause of BRICS and other emerging markets and developing countries.
