On the afternoon of May 31, Dr. Liu Zhenying, President of our Academy, President of the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, Director of the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and Chair of the China Chapter of the BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group, was invited to meet with Ms. Samekbayeva Rila Amanbayeva, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, Dr. Liu introduced the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of CAST, the BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group, the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen), and their respective mechanisms. He also provided a detailed explanation of the work being carried out by these organizations in the areas of technology and skills, including standard setting under the BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee framework, the International Training Bases for Future Technology Skills and Humanistic Exchange, the Belt & Road and BRICS Auditorium of Skills Development and Technology Innovation, the Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation, as well as international joint education programs and credit recognition.
Deputy Minister Samekbayeva warmly welcomed Dr. Liu’s visit, praised the achievements of Dr. Liu and his team in various areas, and introduced the current status of higher education and digitalization in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the challenges facing the integration of industry and education. She expressed hope that China could further cooperate with Kyrgyz universities, vocational schools, training institutions, and research Academys on projects related to technology and skills standard-setting, curriculum development, base construction, hosting lectures, collaborative education, and technology innovation exchange, to deepen and broaden the integration of vocational skills and education in Kyrgyzstan.

On June 2, Dr. Liu Zhenying visited four universities: Kyrgyz National University, Kyrgyz-German Academy of Applied Informatics, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, and Adam University, as well as the High-Tech Park of the Kyrgyz Republic. During these visits, he held discussions with university presidents and park managers. Dr. Liu introduced the outcomes and cooperation mechanisms of the BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group, and learned about each institution’s efforts in talent development, industry-education integration, project incubation, and international cooperation. Preliminary agreements on cooperation in areas such as standard setting, base construction, lectures, the Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation, international joint education programs, credit recognition, and talent development were reached.
