From March 20 to 30, 2025, the Skills Development, the Brazil Chapter of BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group and an educational training and World Skills expert delegation from the Brazil National Service for Industrial Training(SENAI) conducted an 11-day visit in China.
The first stop of the Brazilian expert delegation's visit to China was Guangzhou Information Technology Vocational School, the participating unit that won the gold medal (first prize) in the 2024 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation Brazil Technology Innovation Competition.
On the morning of March 20th, accompanied by Du Hongjie, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS, as well as Wang Xue and Yan Wenzhi, project specialists from our Academy, the Brazilian expert delegation visited Guangzhou Information Technology Vocational School. The school welcomed the delegation with a traditional lion dance performance showcasing distinctive Guangdong characteristics. Principal Liu Guanming, Vice Principal Chen Shupeng, and other school leaders warmly received the experts. They invited the Brazilian delegation to observe practical training scenarios for industrial robot technology applications, enjoy an enthusiastic samba dance performance by drones, witness on-site demonstrations of AI teaching scenarios and applications, and experience interactive exhibits such as posture-mimicking robots, AI-powered electronic solder joint quality inspection, the cloud computing practice environment—Xinzhi Cloud Platform, the locally deployed intelligent platform based on DeepSeek—Xinzhi Brain, and the original game scenario "AI Housekeeper Smart Assistant." These activities provided the delegation with a direct understanding of the school's practical achievements in empowering education and skills training through artificial intelligence.
On the afternoon of March 20th, the Brazilian expert delegation visited Guangzhou Technician College for an exchange activity. The delegation first toured the college's training bases and exhibition halls for automobiles, aircraft manufacturing, and robotics, exchanging insights on the institution's experience in school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration. Established in 1952, Guangzhou Technician College is the earliest technical school founded in Guangdong Province and the first World Skills gold medal-winning institution in Guangzhou's technical education history. Since its inception, the college has consistently adhered to the educational philosophy of "Empowering the Nation with Skills, Building Dreams with Craftsmanship," dedicating itself to cultivating high-quality skilled talents. During the symposium with Brazilian education, training, and World Skills experts, Zhang Lifang, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Guangzhou Technician College, highlighted the institution's explorations and practices in three key areas: skills competitions, school-enterprise collaboration, and talent cultivation model reforms.
On the morning of March 21st, Brazilian expert delegation visits Guangzhou Industry&Trade Technician College. Accompanied by Li Hongqiang, President of the College, and Zhao Qinde, Full-time Deputy Party Secretary, the Brazilian expert delegation visited the exhibition hall showcasing the educational achievements under the theme "Precision Engineering for Quality, Pursuing Perfection through Excellence." They gained insights into the high-skilled talent cultivation model of "Dual System of School-Enterprise Collaboration, Integration of Work and Learning." The delegation also conducted on-site observations of four national training bases for CAD Mechanical Design, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Mobile Application Development, and Network Systems Management, gaining firsthand experience and understanding of the college's World Skills competition base construction and operation, competitor selection and training, and the transformation of competition achievements. During the discussion session, President Li Hongqiang expressed hope that both sides could engage in in-depth exchanges on talent cultivation, skills competitions, and other areas, sharing experiences and working together to contribute to the future development of vocational education.
During this visit, the Brazilian expert delegation will tour Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Tianjin, Beijing, and other cities in China. They will engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges on organizing the World Skills Competition, conducting technical and vocational training, standard formulation and curriculum development, as well as academic exchanges between Chinese and Brazilian teachers and students. The Brazilian expert delegation looks forward to deepening cooperation with Chinese institutions and enterprises to advance together hand in hand.
In June 2024, the Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation—BRICS (Brazil) Technology Innovation Competition was successfully held in Brazil. Seventeen Chinese teams participated in four delegations, traveling to the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, and Mato Grosso in Brazil for competition and exchange. Project matchmaking meetings were conducted to discuss project implementation and cooperation, resulting in multiple collaborative agreements between China and Brazil. The international exchange and cooperation yielded fruitful and remarkable outcomes. In January 2025, Brazil Chapter of BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group proposed an on-site visit to China to inspect some of the Chinese institutions that had reached cooperation intentions the previous year.
