On the morning of June 1, Cui Yonghui, Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Committee, visited Jimei and Tong'an Districts to inspect several key projects of the BRICS Innovation Base. At the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen), he was briefed on the institution’s operations and expressed his hope that the Academy would stay closely aligned with its mission to serve the BRICS countries in talent cultivation, technological advancement, industrial upgrading, and economic development. He emphasized the importance of strengthening research and development in technical skills, incubating and transforming innovative achievements, and showcasing advanced technologies.

Cui then visited Corebo Electric Equipment Co., Ltd. to examine the company's production and business activities. He learned how the company leverages the BRICS Innovation Base and Xiamen’s strengths in the power industry to actively expand into BRICS markets.

Cui Yonghui stressed that building the BRICS Innovation Base in Xiamen is a major mission entrusted to the city by the CPC Central Committee and a significant opportunity for Xiamen to become a key hub in China’s new development paradigm and to take the lead in achieving socialist modernization. He called on all stakeholders to bear this responsibility in mind, forge ahead with gratitude, focus on priority tasks, pursue bold reforms and innovations, and work together to ensure steady progress and tangible outcomes in the construction of the base, thereby contributing Xiamen’s strength to pragmatic BRICS cooperation.

He also emphasized the importance of delivering real results, calling for strong efforts in talent development, project matchmaking, platform building, scientific research cooperation, and trade and investment. He encouraged the pooling of resources from BRICS countries to achieve more substantial outcomes. Cui urged the city to take the construction of the BRICS Innovation Base as an opportunity to focus on key areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, and the industrial internet, accelerate the development of new-type industrialization, vigorously promote both the digital economy and digital transformation of industries, and support enterprises in both "bringing in" and "going global" strategies to foster the development of new quality productive forces.
