As one of the five outcome designs, the the BRICS Standardization Working Committee was reviewed and approved at the BRICS Business Council Annual Meeting in June 2022, and was included in the annual report submitted to the leaders of the five countries, receiving full recognition among BRICS nations. During the 15th BRICS Summit held in South Africa in August 2023, the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee Charter (hereinafter referred to as the Charter ) was endorsed and supported by the national Tech & Innovation Groups of the BRICS Business Council. Under the leadership of the BRICS Tech & Innovation Group and witnessed by the heads of each national Tech & Innovation Group, the Charter was signed and agreed for implementation. In October 2024, the annual report released at the BRICS Business Council Annual Meeting held in Russia explicitly stated that the BRICS Standardization Working Committee would continue to advance the development of skills assessment systems, curriculum standards, and competition standards.

Standardization work remains a long and arduous task. We will continue our efforts to advance the mutual recognition, promotion, and application of BRICS group standards among member countries, building a distinctive "vocational education going global" brand with Chinese characteristics to serve international production capacity cooperation. By formulating BRICS group standards, developing curricula and teaching platforms, as well as educational equipment, we aim to contribute to promoting international integration of industry and education while enhancing the global influence of China's vocational education—transforming "Chinese standards" into "international standards."
