May 14, BRICS Skills Competition Kick-off Stage Web Technology Competition Online International Training Camp held the opening ceremony, 48 Web participating groups from BRICS countries officially opened the curtain of international distance training.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, the BRICS Business Council, and the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, and is undertaken by the China Education Association for International Exchanges (CEAIE), the Center for Vocational Education Development of the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the BRICS Business Council's Working Group on Skills Development, with the BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technological Innovation(Xiamen) as the executive contractor.
Dr. Liu Zhenying, Head of the Chinese Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council and Director of the Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that the Skills Development Working Group will set up a BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee to formulate BRICS group skills standards and develop future skills training curricula, and issue skills passports; organize BRICS Skills Competitions; set up a BRICS Lecture Hall for Skills Development and Technological Innovation; and establish a BRICS Future Skills Training Base and BRICS Institute for Skills Development and Technological Innovation.

This was followed by speeches from the expert representatives from the BRICS countries. Zhao Junqing, the chief expert from China, made a brief introduction to the event and answered questions from participating experts and competitors.
This BRICS Skills Competition Kick-off Stage sets three pre-competition international training camps according to the three competitions, namely Web Technology, Machine Learning and Big Data, and Rail Vehicle Technology.
As of May 14, the organizing committee of the competition has received applications from 55 foreign teams and 152 expert competitors from BRIC countries, as well as 120 domestic teams and more than 400 expert competitors.
