At 19:00 on the evening of May 16, the opening ceremony of the online international training camp for the Rail Vehicle Technology Competition of the 2022 BRICS Skills Competition Kick-Off Stage was held. Ninety-two participating teams from BRICS countries and international observation teams of international students from Laos Babasa Institute of Technology and China Shaanxi Railway Engineering Vocational and Technical College attended the opening ceremony together.
Dr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of the BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group and President of the Xiamen BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation(Xiamen), attended the ceremony and delivered an opening speech. He said that in order to deepen the international integration of industry and education and jointly promote the high-quality development of vocational education in the BRICS countries, the BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group will focus on the following aspects:
First, establish a technical skills standardization working committee to implement and promote the formulation of international group standards and curriculum development for BRICS future skills, and then form a BRICS skills certification system and issue skills passports;
Promoting the construction of an international training base for BRICS future skills and establishing a joint training center for BRICS future skills on this basis;
(iii) Establishing a long-term mechanism for organizing the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Lecture Hall, and providing soft skills training at the theoretical and technical levels by means of regular forums, seminars or thematic meetings;
IV. Conducting the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition and the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition, and giving full play to the leading role of the Competition in the development of future skills curricula, the formulation of international group skills standards, and training and certification by improving the mechanism of combining remote competitions and training;
(v) Constructing the BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation and establishing the BRICS Resource Management Center.
Afterwards, Gleb Zakharenko, a senior expert in rail transportation from Russia, introduced an overview of the development of rail transportation in Russia and expressed his good expectations for this event.
You Wei, Director of International Education Lao Language-Chinese Training and Exchange Center of Laos Babasa Institute of Technology, and Jiang Pingjiang, Vice President of China Shaanxi Railway Engineering Vocational and Technical College, spoke as special guests and introduced the development of vocational skills education in the two institutions.
Then Liu Zhiming, the chief expert of this competition, professor of Beijing Jiaotong University and project manager of WorldSkills Railway Vehicle Technical Skills, introduced the situation of the participating teams of the training camp.
After the opening ceremony, the International Training Camp for Rail Vehicle Technology officially launched the skills briefing. Zhang Ying from Hunan Railway Vocational and Technical College, He Chengcai from Wuhan Railway Vocational and Technical College, Deng Xiaoyu from Sichuan Urban Vocational College, Qin Chiyue from Baotou Railway Vocational and Technical College, and other senior lecturers gave professional explanations on the content of the competition, competition regulations, scoring standards, etc. to the trainees.
The 2022 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition is organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, the BRICS Business Council, and the People's Government of Xiamen Municipality, and hosted by the China Association for International Educational Exchange (CAIEE), the Center for the Development of Vocational Education (CDEV) of the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the BRICS Business Council's Working Group on Skills Development.
The competition focuses on key areas such as high-end manufacturing, digital economy, new industries, new forms of business, new technologies, etc., and promotes training through "competition instead of training", "competition for learning", "competition for training", Through "training by competition", "promoting learning by competition", "promoting training by competition" and "promoting reform by competition", an international exchange platform for technical skills competitions will be built, so as to enhance the ability of teachers and students of vocational colleges and universities of the five countries in innovation, coordination, organization and cooperation, enrich the content of exchanges and cooperation among vocational colleges and universities and enterprises of the five countries, and promote the cultivation of internationalized and high-quality skilled talents of the BRICS countries.
Up to now, 55 foreign teams, 120 domestic teams and more than 400 expert players from BRICS countries have registered for this kick-off competition.
