2022 BRICS + Eurasian Skills Remote International Tournament Successfully Held

The "2022 BRICS+ Eurasian Skills Remote International Competition - Mixed Challenge of Digital and Traditional Skills" was successfully held on September 6-12 through online remote mode, and the closing ceremony was held in the evening of September 12 through a combination of online and offline modes. Dr. Liu Zhenying, Head of the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council (China) and President of the Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation, was invited to attend the closing ceremony and delivered a speech on bilateral cooperation and humanistic exchanges between China and Russia.

  The BRICS+ Eurasian Skills Remote International Competition of Digital and Traditional Skills Mixed Challenge features 20 events, divided into two phases of training camps and competitions, focusing on digital and future technology skills, as well as traditional skills for a wide range of applications. The competition is jointly organized by the Russian Agency for Skills Development and the BRICS Business Council Working Group on Skills Development. The BRICS Business Council (China) Working Group on Skills Development, the Belt and Road and BRICS International Alliance for Skills Development, and the Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Skills Innovation were responsible for organizing the Chinese teams to participate in the training camps and competitions.

 More than 500 experts and competitors from Russia, China, India and other BRICS countries and other emerging markets and developing countries, such as Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Singapore, Mongolia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, etc., totaling 20 countries, participated in the training camps and competitions in more than 250 sub-competitions. More than 500 experts and competitors participated in the training camps and competitions at more than 250 venues. Among them, 14 vocational colleges and universities from China with a total of 115 experts and competitors participated in 17 competitions.

As of press time, among the 12 events that have been announced, the Chinese team has achieved 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze, and the results of the remaining events will be announced one after another.

The 2022 BRICS+ Eurasian Skills Distance International Competition, which is divided into three phases: the Mixed Challenge of Digital and Traditional Skills, the Agricultural Skills Distance International Competition and the Eurasian High-Tech Open Competition, is one of the outcomes of the design and best practices of distributed international training and competitions at a distance. The successful organization of the Competition fully implements the concept of "promoting training through competition", strengthens humanistic exchanges and friendly communication among BRICS countries and other emerging markets and developing countries, and is conducive to the improvement of education and skills training systems and the development of vocational education in BRICS countries and other emerging markets and developing countries.
