Remote International Competition for Teachers from BRICS Countries and Asia-Pacific Region 11 teams from Xiamen particip

From March 14th to 17th, the "2022 BRICS and Asia-Pacific Professional Teachers Distance International Competition" organized by the Russian Skills Group of the BRICS Business Council was held, with 62 teams from 6 countries including China, Russia, India, Iran, Malaysia and Belarus participating in the remote online competition. It is worth mentioning that all 11 Chinese teams came from Xiamen.


This remote international competition is one of the series of competitions of BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition (referred to as: BRICS Competition). It is reported that the BRICS Competition is an international skills competition recognized by the BRICS Leaders' Meeting Preparatory Committee and jointly promoted by the BRICS Business Council. Since its launch in 2017, the Competition has been successfully held for five sessions, with a cumulative total of nearly 130,000 people participating in the competition and related conferences, exhibitions, displays, technical exchanges and other activities, which has kicked off BRICS skill development and technological innovation cooperation and become an important activity for technical skill development and humanistic exchanges among BRICS countries.


Liu Zhenying, general director of the China Region of the Remote International Skills Competition and director of the Xiamen BRICS Future Institute of Skills Development and Technological Innovation, said that the competition is aimed at improving the exchange and recognition of vocational training and vocational qualifications in the BRICS countries, promoting the development of vocational education in the BRICS countries, and accelerating the coordination and harmonization of vocational training and vocational standards of the most popular and promising occupations in order to promote the agriculture, service industry, new industry and other Industry development.


This year, under the strong promotion of BRICS Innovation Base, Xiamen Municipal Education Bureau, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Affairs and other organizations, 7 institutions including Xiamen City Vocational College, Xiamen Ocean Vocational and Technical College, Xiamen Institute of Technology and other institutions formed 11 teams to represent the Chinese side to take part in this Remote International Skills Competition. They took part in the online competition of six competitions, including freight forwarding, graphic design technology, industrial design, IT network system management and business software solutions.
