Dr. Liu Zhenying, President of Our Academy, Invited to Attend the Kyrgyz Republic Student Programming and Graphic Design Competition

From May 31 to June 2, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Kyrgyz National University, the university hosted the Kyrgyz Republic Student Programming and Graphic Design Competition. Dr. Liu Zhenying, President of our Academy, President of the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, Director of the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and Chair of the China Chapter of the BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group, was invited to attend the opening and closing ceremonies, deliver speeches, and present awards.

Professor Nazarqur Ishekyev, former Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and Vice President for Scientific Work at Kyrgyz National University, warmly welcomed Dr. Liu’s attendance at the university’s 100th anniversary celebrations and expressed gratitude for the invitation. He also conveyed the university’s desire to collaborate with China in the field of higher education, promoting exchanges between the two countries in skills and technology.

Dr. Liu Zhenying praised the competition as a grand event showcasing youth talent, creativity, and innovative spirit, providing a platform for communication, skill exchange, and the collision of ideas among technical and skilled talents. In his speech, he expressed a commitment to working with Kyrgyzstan’s higher education institutions to collaborate on standard setting under the BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee, establishing International Training Bases for Future Technology Skills and Humanistic Exchange, hosting the Belt & Road and BRICS Auditorium of Skills Development and Technology Innovation, organizing the Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation, and pursuing international joint education and credit recognition programs, while also establishing long-term communication mechanisms.

After the opening ceremony, Dr. Liu Zhenying visited the competition venue and interacted warmly with the participants, wishing them the best of luck in the competition.

The closing ceremony took place on June 2, where Mr. Abdulkhamidov Tolobek, President of Kyrgyz National University, once again welcomed and expressed gratitude to Dr. Liu for his visit, reiterating the hope to collaborate with China on various projects in higher education.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Liu Zhenying and President Abdulkhamidov Tolobek presented awards to the winners of the competition. Dr. Liu also invited the first-place winners to participate in the 2024 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition held in China. He emphasized that skill and technology competitions under the Belt & Road and BRICS frameworks are fundamental for promoting coordination and unification of technical and skill standards between participating countries. The competitions help drive the establishment of joint training bases, joint education programs, and credit recognition among countries, advancing the development of future skills and humanistic exchanges among higher education institutions.
