On the morning of November 26th, 2022 Public Hospital Quality Development Exchange Meeting - Xiamen Station and the 85th Anniversary Academic Forum of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University were successfully held, and the "One Belt, One Road and BRICS Digital Medicine Research Center" was unveiled and established at the forum. Mr. Liao Huasheng, Vice Mayor of Xiamen, Mr. Yao Guanhua, Director of Xiamen Municipal Health Commission, Mr. Liu Zhenying, Chairman of the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council, Chairman of the Belt and Road and BRICS International Alliance for Skills Development, and President of the Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation, Mr. Adul Dharakoti, Executive Director of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Mr. Wang Zhanshiang, President of the First Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, Li Weihua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the First Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, and other leaders jointly unveiled the license. Jiao Yahui, Director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the National Health and Wellness Commission, attended the event online.
The "One Belt, One Road and BRICS Digital Medicine Research Center" is jointly established by Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University. The Center will take advantage of the strengths of the BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation and the First Hospital of Xiamen University to accelerate the pace of "going out" of medical technology to BRICS and Belt and Road countries.
Mr. Liu Zhenying, Director of BRICS Academy of Future Skills Development and Technology Innovation(Xiamen), said, "We hope that traditional medicine will take the wings of digital technology to promote the research and development of medical technology, talent training, and international standardization, and we hope that we can really incubate more achievements in the process of international cooperation, so as to make contributions to Xiamen's healthcare industry and the construction of BRICS innovation bases. We sincerely hope that the government and industry experts will work together to promote the construction of the "One Belt, One Road and BRICS Digital Medicine Research Center".
Mr. Wang Zhanxiang, President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University: Innovation strategy, talent strategy, coupled with discipline construction strategy, information technology construction strategy is the direction of future efforts, and strive to use some new methods to explore some innovative ideas, for the diagnosis and treatment of clinically difficult patients with critical illnesses to provide new ideas.
In order to promote the construction of BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base, Xiamen BRICS Institute of Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University have cooperated to set up the "One Belt, One Road and BRICS Digital Medicine Research Center". The "One Belt, One Road and BRICS Digital Medicine Research Center" aims to provide digital medicine research, technical skills training and research results transformation for the Belt and Road and BRICS countries in the areas of cardiac rehabilitation, intelligent medical care, digital health, remote diagnosis and treatment, etc. It combines the advantages of the Xiamen BRICS Institute of Future Skills Development and Technology Innovation with the resources of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University in BRICS countries. Combining the advantages of national resources and the hardware and software infrastructure of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University's medical and rehabilitation environment, the institute focuses on the research of digital medicine for the Belt and Road and the BRICS countries, the formulation of international group standards, the cultivation of international technical and skilled talents in digital medicine, and the transformation and incubation of research results.
