The BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as "BRICS Competition") is an international competition recognized by the Preparatory Committee for the 2017 BRICS Supreme Leaders' Meeting, filed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and approved by the BRICS Business Council. Since 2017, it has been successfully held for six times, with a total of more than 160,000 participants in the competition and related conferences, exhibitions, technical exchanges and other activities, and has been presented to the top leaders of BRICS countries as an outcome design in the Annual Report of BRICS Business Council for six consecutive years.
The BRICS Competition has kicked off the cooperation of BRICS countries in skills competitions and technological innovation, and has become an important platform for promoting educational cooperation, skills development and humanistic exchange activities among BRICS countries, which is highly recognized by the BRICS countries and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Affairs (MOHRS) of the People's Republic of China, and relevant units under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
The theme of the competition is to develop intelligent manufacturing technology skills, artificial intelligence, digital technology skills and future technology skills with "Industry 4.0" as the core, and to cultivate internationalized future technology and skill talents with high technology and skill levels as well as humanistic exchange talents.
