BRICS innovation base construction over the past year, Xiamen based on "the country needs, Xiamen can, BRICS countries want", the city's efforts to promote the BRICS innovation base construction to start a good game, a good start, and make every effort to build the BRICS new industrial revolution in the field of practical cooperation "Xiamen prototype".

Officially inaugurated in the morning of November 17, 2021 in the third phase of the Software Park, the BRICS Future Innovation Park plans to focus on the introduction of new industrial projects in cooperation with the BRICS and BRICS+ countries, and to build a platform for project cooperation, development, and exchanges around the industries of 5G, Big Data Artificial Intelligence, cross-border e-commerce, and semiconductor integrated circuits, so as to promote the construction of the BRICS Innovation Base to go deeper and deeper. The first batch of eight projects signed to move in, covering BRICS skill talent training, high-tech industry transformation, university youth innovation and entrepreneurship and other fields.

Liu Zhenying, President of BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen): After the project has landed, within the scope of BRICS countries, the formation of common technical skills standards, the development of public courses for talent training, and finally achieve international talent training, for BRICS countries and even the "One Belt, One Road" countries, to cultivate internationalized high technology and skills. The final goal is to achieve internationalized talent training and cultivate internationalized high-tech and skilled talents for the BRICS countries and the "Belt and Road" countries.

Over the past year since the construction of the BRICS Innovation Base, the city has carried out cooperation and exchanges in the areas of policy coordination, talent training, project development, etc., and has promoted the complementarity of project resources, so as to build up a "golden bridge" for exchanges and mutual understanding among the BRICS countries.

In terms of policy coordination, Xiamen has issued "Several Measures on Accelerating the Construction of BRICS Innovation Base", launching 26 initiatives to support the establishment of BRICS innovation base technology transfer organizations, BRICS incubation carriers, etc., to create favorable conditions for the construction of BRICS innovation base.

In terms of project development, the BRICS Innovation Base and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and other ministerial units have jointly built seven new industrial revolution empowerment platforms, and the first batch of 39 demonstration projects in the field of the new industrial revolution have been solicited and released, covering benchmark projects and application scenarios, such as smart cities and new infrastructures. Xiamen enterprises are actively involved in the construction of the BRICS Innovation Base. C&D Group, ITC Group and others have strengthened industrial chain supply chain cooperation with enterprises in BRICS countries, and the total import and export volume between Xiamen and BRICS countries amounted to 7.264 billion USD from January to September 2021, up 32.6% year-on-year.

Focusing on the hot concerns of economic and trade exchanges among BRICS countries, the city has actively explored and practiced talent training, carrying out a number of trainings and lectures, with more than 160,000 participants, covering more than 10 countries such as the BRICS and Germany, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Pakistan, etc.; meanwhile, it develops multilingual online and offline training courses for the development needs of BRICS countries, and the first batch of 11 training programs with about 320 courses was released The first batch of 11 training programs with about 320 courses will be released.
