May 14, the 12th Asian Welding Technology and Its Application Forum 2023 International Seminar on Intelligent Welding& Additive Manufacturing Technology and Cooperation Auditorium of Skills Development& Technology Innovation was successfully held in Xiamen.
This forum is one of the concurrent series of activities of the 38th Asian Welding Federation Council and Committee Meeting, hosted by the Asian Welding Federation (AWF), China Welding Association (CWA), China Mechanical Engineering Society Welding Branch (CWS), co-hosted by the International Alliance for Skills Development in the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries, and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAS) Training Center for Skills Development and Technological Innovation in the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries Hosted by the China Welding Association Surface Engineering and Additive Manufacturing Working Committee, China Building Materials Machinery Industry Association Welding Special Committee, China Invention Association Industrial Internet Technology Innovation Branch, by the Xiamen BRICS Future Skills Development and Technology Innovation Institute, Beijing Jiake Xinxing Technology Co., Ltd. executive contractor, and by the Xiamen Industrial Technology Research Institute, Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Ltd. and supported by Xiamen Industrial Technology Research Institute, Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee and Xiamen Jimei District People's Government. Xiamen BRICS Institute of Future Skills Development and Technology Innovation provided the offline venue, online meeting room and related services for the forum.

The forum also received high attention from the Xiamen government, with Li Ming, deputy director of Xiamen BRICS Innovation Base Construction Leading Group Office, Cao Weimin, deputy director of Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau, Zhang Yanyun of Jimei District Industrial Information Bureau, and Fu Jing, president of Xiamen Torch University Hall, attending on site. Intelligent welding and additive manufacturing industry enterprises, professional colleges and universities nearly 150 representatives, including more than 40 foreign guests online and offline to participate in this event.
The event received attention and support from domestic and international media, with two Chinese and Japanese journalists from the Japan Industrial Press coming from Shanghai to Xiamen to cover the event on site. As the sixth event of the Belt and Road and BRICS Skill Development and Technology Innovation Lecture, this seminar was broadcas live through the BRICS Future Institute video number, attracting nearly 10,000 people to watch online.
The symposium centered on the theme of "Intelligent Welding and Additive Manufacturing Technology and Cooperation". Representatives of Asian Welding Federation member states, including the Singapore Welding Society, China Welding Association, China Mechanical Engineering Society Welding Branch, Indonesian Welding Association, Malaysian Welding and Joining Society, Japan Welding Engineering Society, the Federation of Engineering Societies of Myanmar, Mongolia Materials Science and Welding Society of the leaders and experts, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian Welding Society, the enterprise representatives of Spain, domestic Key institutions, experts and scholars and other relevant personnel totaling 32 people to make keynote speeches and analyze the current situation of the development of the welding industry at home and abroad.
The conference was accompanied by an exhibition of new technologies and products, which was set up in the Future Technology Exhibition and Experience Center of the Xiamen BRICS Institute for Future Skills Development and Technological Innovation. The exhibition featured 32 exhibits from 25 companies in the fields of Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence and digital skills. Domestic and foreign guests visited the exhibition and interacted with the exhibitors, gaining a deeper understanding of Made in China, and highly appreciated the exhibition.
